My Dear Mamma,
We have at last some idea of when we are going, and of course we are highly delighted. It is very short notice and we only get 3 hours leave tomorrow and go aboard on Wednesday.
I have everything I want now and will of course write you every opportunity I get. By jove we are fit. I have never felt better and am nicely sunburnt. I have taken every chance of writing you lately but I suppose you must think I am lazy, but it isn’t laziness – only tired.
Well, if I get time I will look up all those people whose addresses I have and write you every mail. It is now just on “lights out” so I must conclude. I will write you again before we leave and write you from Lyttelton.
Goodbye
Heaps of love
From your affectionate son
Wyn
